Beth O'Brien

Yoga Instructor

I took my first yoga class while on vacation in the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona and was hooked. I loved the flow, movements and relaxation it brought into my life. Upon my return home from vacation, I joined a local gym known for excellent yoga classes. I tried all the various yoga classes and learned from all the instructors.

With continued practice, I was able to do poses like the splits which I hadn’t attempted since being a cheerleader in high school! I felt accomplished from yoga practice and it was a great confidence booster.

By 2010, I wanted to go deeper into my knowledge of yoga, so I went to Yoga Sutra for Life in Warren, NJ to pursue 200-hour instructor training under lead trainer, Ranjitha Sandeep. That experience was so positive that I signed up for the 300-hour Instructor training at the same school.

I’ve been teaching various yoga classes since 2010. After a few years of teaching, I started to wonder about teaching specialty type classes like for prenatal, postnatal. The Integral Yoga Institute of New York City offered 3 different certifications: Prenatal Instructor certification 85 hours, Postpartum Instructor Certification 40 hours and Yoga for Labor and Birth certification 40 hours. I completed all the certifications in 2015! This is a niche group and I get as much out of it as the students. I’m honored to be a part of their birth experience.

In my free time, I love the beach, especially Spring Lake, NJ where I go every summer. I also enjoy walking long distances outdoors.

I am very grateful to have a large family and long-time friends.

NAMASTE!
