Marisa is the Owner of Be Well Integrative Health Services, and The LOHO. She has over 700 hours of yoga teacher training, and has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2009.
Marisa created the yoga studio within Be Well as a therapeutic extension of all the existing health and wellness services it provided. She immersed herself in the yoga classes and community to become as connected as possible with every person that came into Be Well, and she fell in love with yoga. Marisa completed her initial 200 hour yoga teacher training at Purple Om Yoga in Denville, and has taken an additional 200 hour and a 300 advanced hour training at Be Well under Lead Trainer Amanda Sherman. She has created and taught for many corporate wellness programs, teaches regular group and private classes (virtually only right now), and is Dharma Yoga Wheel Certified.
Off the mat, Marisa is the President-Elect of the New Jersey Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is the Owner and Creator of the New Jersey VegFest, which hosts 300+ local vegan/plant-based small businesses and 30k+ attendees annually. She also owns The Vegan Local, which is a vegan online market with vendors from all over the country that ships to customers nationwide (theveganlocal.com).
She graduated from Montclair State University with a BS in Nutrition and Food Science in 2008, is pursuing a Masters Degree in Nutrition from Northern University, and plans to move on to getting her PhD next year! Marisa has expanded Be Well Integrative Health Services to have 13 locations throughout NY, NY, and PA; and has created integrative wellness teams with world renown medical practices. Marisa was named the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics “2019 Nutrition Entrepreneur of the Year”.
Marisa hopes to teach and practice yoga for the rest of her life. Her classes are open to everyone of all abilities and levels.
